The family home was in Tyler. When I took photographs in East Texas in 1971 and 1972, I always left from and returned to 508 South Bonner Street. I took a few photographs in those years and wish I’d had the time to take more. Recently, I've been able to go back and fill in some gaps. Many of the places I remember have changed but the feeling of the town has not. But I do miss Battee's Barbecue and I'll probably never learn why the washing machine was up on poles above the peaked roof.
