The Mars Bar

The Mars Bar is located on the southwest corner of First Avenue and 1st Street. Most New York City nightlife guides are not particularly complimentary. It’s pretty rough inside, but I’ve never been concerned with that. I’ve enjoyed watching the decorations on the outside change, particular on the 1st Street side. It has been imaginative and ever changing for many years.
